Women definitely ovulate till they reach menopause. However, ovulation can continue even for a few months after menopause and it's wise to use contraception even after menopause - although the chances of getting pregnant are low.

About two weeks before your next period you release an egg. It slowly travels down your tubes to your uterus waiting to be fertilized. If there are sperm waiting, you can get pregnant, if you have sex now, you can get pregnant too.

Ovulation actually isn't a process that occurs for days. As a matter of fact your ovulate when your egg is released. In this time period, which is a matter of hours, you can become pregnant if your egg gets fertilized. Your period will happen from 10-15 days after you ovulate.

Women can ovulate from the time they begin menstruating until they reach menopause. Menstruation usually begins around age 12, and menopause typically occurs between forty-five and fifty. These ages are approximate and a large variation is normal.
