malaria is spread by mosquitoes. The parasite is ingested by a female mosquito biting an infected human and then undergoes changes in the salivary gland to a form that can infect another human when the mosquito feeds again on their blood. Only anopheles type mosquitoes carry malaria.Malaria can not be caught from an infected human by any other means.

Yes indeed, Malaria is very contagious and a huge problem in warmer climates. The disease is spread from person to person by female mosquitoes, which carry the parasites in their saliva after biting an infected host.
