How is cotton lycra fabric different from "regular" cotton fabric?

I have some clothing made for cotton and lycra and they are very different. Lycra has more elasticity and feels more silky, its stronger than rubber, and is used in the process of making most water resistand clothing or protective material. Cotton doesn't have that durability and definitely can't be water resistant.

Lycra is a man made stretch fabric so it's a blend. It's going to have more give and wrinkle less than 100% natural cotton.
