One part of the diagnostic process is parental interview. A doctor makes the diagnosis based on clinical observations and one or more standardized tests. Professionals who are likely to diagnose autism are psychologists, pscyhiatrists, and school psychologists. Other diagnosing professionals may be made by physical, speech and occupational therapists. The latter named sometimes use their own tests.

They look for common factors, like slow or no speak, limited comprehension, and tasks or actions that are done repeatedly.Example: If a person has to stack items all the time, does not speak well enough for their age, and has a hard time understanding others, then usually, they are autistic.

Autism can only be diagnosed by examining behavior. The most respected behavioral assessment for autism is the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule and this should be administered by a psychologist with experience with autism.

Autism is diagnosed by professionals using a set of standardized tests. The people that do the diagnoses of a person are psychologists, psychiatrists and other mental health professionals. Some of the tests used is the Childhood Autism Rating Scale and Checklist for Autism in Toddlers. There are some other tests as well. Medical history is considered too.

Autism is diagnosed by several tests conducted by a physician. The tests could be questionnairs and observations conducted by the physician and parents.
