I know that the lungfish is unique and can breath air but how does it do this?
Answer by SaltWaterLover (48)
Those types of fish can breath air because they have special organs kind of like lungs that allow them the absorb oxygen from regular air. They need to swim up and break the surface in order to get to that air however.

They have both lungs and gills, when they want to breath air they come up to the surface of the tank.
