Star fruit is often described as a cross between an apple and citrus or pineapple. Generally it is a mildly sweet tart flavor. There are different varieties, some more sweet, but in general be prepared for a tart undertone, think sweet lemon.
to me it taste like a mixture of apple, grape,& the meat is plum texture. And the skin smells like a tomato. weird but thats what its like to me. very yummy. I like mine yellow all the way thru with brown on the ridges
Star fruit has a sweet mild taste kind of like a honey dew melon. As an added benefit Star Fruit contains plenty of anti-oxidants and are a great source of Vitamin C. The only down side is preparation. It may take a while to seperate the fruit from the skin but the time spent is well worth the wait.
The starfruit is delicious! The skin has a very tart taste, but the "meat" of the fruit has a very exotic flavor- very sweet but very tangy. Its is very refreshing.
