How does society deal with homosexuality?

There is no single answer to your question because different societies deal with homosexuality differently. Contemporary American society is slowly coming to a point of acceptance, including equal rights guaranteed by constitutional law. Homosexuality is sacred in some societies; in others it is heavily penalized, even by the death sentence.

This depends on the society. Those societies with a strong moral imperative on procreation and sex being only within marriage, such as Christianity and Islam, have a strong bias against it. Societies with few moral limitations on sex, such as Shinto and Buddhism, have little concern about homosexuality, though most Eastern religions did require the man have children, too.
