IPL is intense pulsed light hair removal. Basically the light travels through the skin and breaks the shaft of the hair (thus removing it). The light is converted to heat and also destroys the hair folicle. This is quicker than normal laser hair removal.

Intense pulsed light hair removal treatment works by treating the required area with a hand held xenon flash lamp which in effect vaporizes the root of the hair, however not all hairs are removed but overall there is a reduction in number. Treatment causes no real pain but sometimes a little temporary discomfort
