HIV would not directly affect the skin in anyway. As the virus progresses to AIDS the immune system weakens any breaks in the skin would be an invite to infection.

HIV weakens the immune system and therefore skin is often affected. Many skin complaints consist of seborrheic dermatitis and dry skin.

After a few weeks of exposure and infection of HIV other illness's develop such as 'glandular fever' or infectious mononucleosis. These have numerous symptoms however its usually followed by a rash similar to many other rashes like measles and rubella. It can be red and splotchy, may or may not be itchy, peeling palms, ulcers around mouth and genitalia.

HIV actually doesnt affect anything. It is AIDS caused by HIV that affects your health. As AIDS is a disease of your immune system, it can affect any part of your body, that means skin too.
