Disney land does not compare with Disney world. Disney land is nice but more of a typical amusement park. Disney world is the gold standard for amusement parks. The whole experience is grander. You truly become immersed by the whole experience. The massive size and scale and attention to detail makes Disney world far better than Disney land.

Disney World has the added benefits of attractions and parks like Epcot Center. Disneyland is more of a classic, and Disney World has more of a continual addition of new rides and parks. You can also consider if you prefer southern California for Disneyland, or Florida for Disney World.

There are 4 amusement parks, 2 water parks and a large shopping complex at Disney World. Disneyland only has 2 amusement parks. We've been to both. Disney World Rocks!

Definitely take the kids to Disneyland. It is the original, therefore it is always the best. Disneyland has that old time fun feel, with a touch of modern fun as well. Disneyland is also a lot easier to get around. I've been to both each as a child and as an adult and as a kid, I preferred Disneyland.

Disneyland is a much more traditional park. It is the best place to go on any day for any occasion and it is not too overwhelming.

Disneyland is much smaller than Disney World. You can also find Disneyland in a lot of Areas but Disney World is only located southwest of Orlando, it also has a lot more rides, theaters and themes. It has bigger hotels to stay in. You cannot tour Disney world in a day compared to Disneyland

Disneyworld is larger and has four separate parks -- the Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, EPCOT Center, and Disney Hollywood Studios, plus two water parks, a downtown shopping area, and more. Disneyland is a single park, most like the Magic Kingdom. Disneyworld requires several days; Disneyland one or two.

Disneyland: original park opened in the 50s. smaller and Disney just bought the land he needed not the land he wanted. Disneyland is the name of the actual park. in the 90s they added Downtown Disney and Disney's California Adventure. they also have a couple of hotels. the entire thing is called the Disneyland Resort. you can walk anywhere on Disneyland Property because its all connected like a huge block on steroids and then hit with a growth ray! :) Disney World: name for the complete resort build in 1971. originally two hotels and a theme park called the Magic Kingdom. people will call MK Disney World but that is incorrect. for about a decade that was the only park so the name just stuck. currently it is made up of four theme parks, two water parks, over a dozen hotels, Downtown Disney (shopping and dinning area), Pleasure Island (clubs), golf courses and an indoor amusement park (Disney Quest, mostly video games). it is extremely large. you have to drive from one park to another.
