How do you wire a 277 volt light?

You must first make sure that the electrcal service is capable of 277v as most services are 110/220v. After it is verified that there is indeed 277v to ground you will have to connect the fixture wires to the supply wires as you would any light. Usually a bare or green grounding wire, a white neutrel, and a colored hot wire.

In a 480 volt three phase system 277 volts is the star point voltage. It can be used for a 277 voltage supply unless the ballast for this type of lighting is multi tapped. A multi tapped ballast on the other hand can be connected to the following voltages, 120, 208, 240, 277, 347, 480 and 600 volts.

The best thing to do is to try to tap into a pre existing set of wires you all ready have.

277 volt is the star point voltage of 480 volt 3 phase system. The ballast and the light fittings is to be used in this wiring is not suitable for other systems.

Like any other light. Just make sure your building is running a 277v service. Be careful, 277 does not feel to good when you get shocked. Leave to professionals.

First check the phase of the light and then arrange the required supply for the light. Then arrange switch for the light and give connection.
