AVI is just a container format, which means the video itself might use any kind of codec. If a regular media player can't play it (like Windows Media Player), you can either download a codec pack, or get VLC Media Player, a software that can read any codec.

You can watch AVI videos in most video software, such as Windows Media Player. However, there are many different ways of creating an AVI, and different AVI's may require different codecs - I reccomend searching google for "Ace Mega Codecs" and downloading and installing it, this should allow you to watch 99% of AVIs using Windows Media Player.

To play avi videos you must have the needed codecs installed. Most players like m2v, windows media player, winamp, real media player, vlc and others should be able to play it. Popular codecs are cccc, xvid, k-lite and others but these are the main ones. You will also need video card, most 2002+ video cards will be acceptable.

select vlc media player and double the media player select add tab select use that avi file and play it
