The trick to is using the right magnification with a proper slide. Prepare it by placing on a small glass or clear plastic plate and covering it with the same material. Then zoom fully in and slowly out until objects appear. Fine tune the focus with the secondary knob.

To use a microscope preperly, turn the revolving nosepiece to the lowest lens mark. Put a cover slip over the specimen to prevent the objective lenses to touch the plate. Then place the microscope slide on the stage and fasten it with thhe stage clips. Use coarse focus knob to mover the objective lens down and look through the eyepiece.
