How do you transplant a Bradford pair tree?

I am doing some work on the landscaping in my yard and need to move a Bradford pair.

It depends on the age of the tree how easy this can be done. A mature tree has too big of a root system to move very easily.

One of the best things about plants and botany in general is the different varieties. Different plants are more resilient to certain elements than others. Pick up a good botany-book.

A Bradford pear tree has a very long tap root like most hardwood trees and requires a very large root ball if the tree is of any size at all. You may need someone with proper equipment to extract a root ball large enough for the tree to survive. This is a difficult operation for a one-person job.

For transplantation,retain of the root system and removed a ball of soil is important and it should protected with moist burlap and spring is best time to move it.
