For cats younger than a year old, look at the rear end of the cat body. A female has an anus and a small tear shaped opening underneath. But a male has a space between them. Or if the male cat is older than a year old, then there should be testicles visible there as well.

To tell a cats gender you lift up their tail and look right where there but is. If you are old enough then you should see which gender they are.

Well, there is only one sure way to tell a cat's gender, and it's not that delicate. (This does not always work if they're very small kittens). Simply lift the cat's tail and inspect the genital area; you should be able to tell as males will have, well, male parts and so forth.

Determining a cat's gender is usually fairly easy, especially if the cat is 8-12 weeks old. If you lift the cat's tail, you will most likely be able to see male genitals very easily on a male cat.
