Patience is the first order of business. Keep your speech clear, and use uncomplicated words or very clear phrases. The bird will pick up some of these by pure repetition.

Many people think they could teach parrot to talk. The thing is the parrot won't know what it's saying so I wouldn't really consider that "talking" like humans do. However, with practice, you could probably teach a parrot to repeat things that you say a lot in from of him/her.

To teach a gray parrot to talk is the same as teaching any parrot to talk. You must spend at least 10 minutes per day with the bird, repeating the word(s)over and over to him.

It is very important to first build a relationship with the bird prior to teaching it to talk. A bonding relationship that could build trust to the parrot as their nature is always being the prey. Once you established this, use clear and simple words for them to mimic.

You need to repeat the words over and over and visually stimulate as well. If you hold a carrot up and say carrot the bird will associate the item with the word -- it's much like teaching a child to talk - repetition and patience.

First and the important thing to teach it, is give it a bait which can be its favorite fruit.Don't give it to him directly, first you have to make him perform a task.This way he will learn.
