The best food for parrots consists of pellets, and only about 12 percent seeds. Pellets should be supplemented with other foods, such as, bread, cereal, and meat.

Pellets are the best diet for your parrot, as it contains minerals and nutrients, which will allow your parrot to stay healthy and live longer. It gives more energy to the parrot. There is very little fat in it compared to seeds like sunflower seeds which contain more fat. Pellet mixed with vegetables is the best diet for the parrot.

Other than the usual sun flower seeds and other variates of shelled good parrots love any vegetables fruits and meats such as chicken. Fresh greens are good for them such as spinach, green beans, broccoli and other veggies like carrots and zucchini. Fruit such as bananas, apples, pears and kiwis can be fed to him as well.

Parrot food is available in pet shops and even grocery stores. Your best bet, though, is to feed what they eat in the wild. Fruits and vegetables but not avacado. Fruit is like candy to birds, so make sure they have veggies first and a small amount of seed too. Some also like chicken! They'll eat what you eat.
