How do you stop bedwetting in children?

I have two children, ages 4 and 5, who wet the bed.

In most cases, children will naturally grow out of this (girls usually a year or so before boys, but both generally before six). However, if they do not you should seek professional help, as it may be one of two problems. The most likely is a physical or developmental problem. The second and far more unlikely is psychological reason.

Bedwetting can be a difficult problem to overcome. Internet searches reveal numerous remedies from alarm systems to bladder training exercises. Many doctors believe children should be allowed to outgrow this and that parents should use common sense practices in the evening such as limiting fluid intake. Some physicians will prescribe medicines like DDAVP and imipramine in older children.

If they are just done with the potty training process then it's likely they will wet the bed. Try not to give them any drink after 8 PM, it will help them keep dry at night.

Tell them that if they don't wet the bed, they'll get a toy. This will cause their brain to stop them from wetting the bed.
