How do you splice a ground rod wire?

Use wire of the same grade for the splice. Cut and bare 1 inch of wire. Twist together and mechanically clamp all connections. Test connections and paint with galvanising paint.

Prepare the ground where it will be located by making a man hole. Hammer the rod using a mallet so that it gets pinned firmly and securely to the ground.

Typically, the ground rod is wired to the main electrical panel/box. Be sure that there is a solid connection (ie - metal to metal contact) between the panel and the ground rod. Assuming you have already driven the ground rod into the ground, the hard part is done!

you have to use a bug nut. both ends go inside of it. next you tighten and secure it with black tape
