A LAN denotes two or more computers or devices able to share information on a network and wireless entails an environment that does not include network cables. Windows, MAC and other devices are all capable of connecting to a wireless network.

Now a days most wifi systems are plug and play. The best thing to do is get matching equipment. You need a wireless nic card and a wireless router. Turn everything on and the router will assign a ip address to the nic card. Then your on your way. Happy networking.
