Hang posters around the school, pass candy out, do some fun stuff in the hallways, maybe get in trouble once to get your name out there so kids respect you.
Appeal to your fellow class mates. Ask them what they would like to change and only work on what you can. Usually promises you cant keep work and if you can get out of them that works well.
