How do you replace your alternator?

Is it better to get a mechanic to do it?

You will have to remove the serpentine belt by releasing the belt tensioner and then disconnect the wires from the back of the alternator. Then you can unbolt it.

Unless you are a mechanic, it is better to get a mechanic to do it. If you do not replace it correctly, it could really mess up your car. Seek professional help.

Your alternator is going to be located on the side of the motor with a belt going around it. It is easy unless you are not mechanically inclined.

if your mechanically inclined you can easily replace one your self, you will need some basic tools and some time
