How do you replace the heater core on a Ford Focus?

Drain the collant. Raise the car & remove heater core clamps. Remove floor console. Remove the rear footwell vent air ducts, remove the footwell lower panel, open the glove compartment, pull off the hose, remove accelerator pedal. Detach rear steel clip. Remove heater core air duct housing, remove heater core housing, remove the heater core retaining bolt, remove heater core.

Drain coolant from cooling system. remove hoses and remove heater box mounting bolts. You may have to loosen dash to remove heater box. disassemble box to install new heater core.

Drain the coolant out of the system. Locate and remove old heater core. Replace heater core. Refill system and burp air out of the system.

Well typically all you have to so normally to fix a heater core is remove the old one and put the new one in it's place. However you will have to get into the firewall to get at it.
