How do you replace the half shaft on an Impala?

Remove the wheel cover & the wheel hub nut. Break the lug nuts loose on the Impala's wheels. Raise the Impala off the ground using the floor jack. Remove the drive axle hub nut & the damper fork. Separate the lower control arm & Swing the hub assembly out and away from the Impala. Install the new half shaft.

Unbolt lower ball joint. Disconnect lower control arm from knuckle assembly. Remove nut from drive shaft, tap end to slide away from assembly. Pull assembly,let outer CV joint drop.

Start by removing the wheel. The disassemble the suspension to remove the axle from the spindle. Then finally pull the axles and install the new one. Then reverse the process.

Once you open the hood, the half shaft is located behind the power steering fluid reservoir. You'll have to remove the reservoir tank first, then the half shaft slides out.

Like any other front wheel drive car you must pull the whole assemble. Start by removing the tire. Then remove and suspension or steering components in the way. Finally remove the shaft from the transmission making sure not to damage the seals. Then reverse the process.

Remove the lug nuts and wheel. Remove the damper fork and lower connecting arm. Swing the hub assembly using large screwdriver. Finally install the new half shaft.

You will need to take it in to have it fixed. That is the best way to fix the problem. Or you can go get a manual from the auto parts store. Tell them the make and model of the car. But the best thing to do is it take it in.
