How do you replace the catalytic converter on a 1997 3.3 Plymouth Voyager?

The catalytic converter is the random box on your exhaust between the header and the muffler. This replacement would most likely require replacing the section of exhaust between your engine (not the entire header) and the muffler since most are welded together. If you don't want to do that then i suggest cutting and welding in the new one

Typically when you replace a catalytic converter you simple cut out the old unit and weld in your new one. You may have to adapt the pipe to make the new one fit if it is a universal style replacement. Then just weld it all up to prevent leaks.

use a saw and cut out the old converter, put the new converter in the place of the old one and if it has a flange for bolts bolt it.

Jack the car up(use a Lift if you can) locate the old one near the front of the vehicle and unbolt/cut it out then weld/bolt the new one in.
