How do you replace the alternator on a Ford Taurus?

get the correct alternator. unhook battery. remove the bolts holding in the alternator. remove the splash shild in the fender. the torque converter inspection plate may need removed also on some models. lower the alternator. remove the wires on the alternator. reverse the order of instructions to complete the installation of the alternator.

First locate the alternator, then look for the belt tensioner put a socket and pull handle to release the tension on the belt then remove the bolts to the alternator, the plug, and the wire from the back of the alternator. Put it back in reverse or disassembly.

Remove both bolt's and electric bolt's push it up and remove belt pull it out. To replace slide new one in replace bolts leave the top bolt lose put back on belt use crow bar to pull it tight on the pulley's tighten the sliding bolt and bottom bolt down.

First unhook the battery and the connectors on the alternator. Then loosen the alternator belt. Next remove the bolts holding the alternator on. Then reverse the process.
