How do you replace a three-wire outlet?

BEFORE doing any work, turn POWER OFF at the main panel. Remove the outlet from the wall. Loosen the gold screw and remove black wire. Loosen the silver screw and remove the white wire. Remove the copper wire from the green screw. Reattach the wires in reverse order.

First turn off power to outlet. Remove outlet face cover. Remove mounting screws. Pull outlet from box. Mark wires telling which screw they are attached and remove. Then reverse procedure.

Shut off main breaker,Unscrew face plate ,unsrcew the black and white wires the green wire will have a screw on on the side of box. scrrew in the screws
