Remove the hood. Jack up car and put on stands.Remove the starter. Unbolt bell housing,exhaust,torque convertor. Hook up a hoist. Remove the motor mounts. Lift engine out of the frame. Replace with new.
This is a vary complicates task. Buy a model-specific overhaul manual. This involves a ton of work disconnecting and reconnecting components as well as actually pulling the engine.
Pop hood, jack up car, support on stands, unbolt exhaust, unbolt bell housing bolts, unbolt torque convertor bolts, remove starter, unbolt engine mount bolts, take hood off, hook up engine hoist, remove engine.
