The thermostat in the Kia Rio is on the Drivers side of the engine bay and should be 2-10mm bolts. Wait until the car cools down all the way. Remove the clamp on the hose connected to the thermostat housing. Pull out old thermostat and replace with new.

Locate drain plug at the bottom of radiator and drain coolant into pan. follow the upper radiator hose to the thermostat housing and remove hose from housing. Once housing is removed, replace thermostat and gasket. Replace hose, fill system with coolant and run for 30 minutes while watching for leaks.

First, remove the air cleaner assembly. Follow the larger radiator hose to the end that attaches to the motor. Remove upper radiator hose (make sure engine is cold). Unscrew the two bolts holding the thermostat housing on. Remove old thermostat. Put new thermostat back in using a new gasket. Installation is the opposite of removal.

The thermostat is located where the radiator hose goes into the engine. Please make sure the car is cool and just remove and add new one.

I think the best way for you is to go on official service area for your KIA, because changing the thermostat on RIO is a kind of tricky

the thermostat should be located in the upper radiator hose neck as it bolts to the engine. two or three bolts hold the neck on. let engine cool first.
