The best thing to do when the air compressor is leaking to identify the source of the leak, and then try to patch it if possible. Somtimes replacing the hardware on either end of the compressor fixes the problem, but if the actual tank is leaking get a new one.

If you want to do it cheap that will only last one summer get some sealer and fill it up every few weeks, or replace entire compressor.

Check the tank first to make sure it is not leaking if it is it will need replacement. For a quick but not permanent fix you will need to find the source of the leak and then purchase sealant to plug leaks. Note: you will need to plug leaks with sealant every couple of weeks.

If I had a ar that the AC compressor was leaking on I would take it to a mechanic as they can recharge the system and put dye in the system so they can see where it is leaking, this is the best way to find out where the leak is and have a mechanic fix it.
