I need to remove the gear case from my Mercury 150 boat.

Pull your boat completely out of the water. The gear case leads to the drive shaft.Take the nuts of the housing.

This is easy but you need to pull your boat out of the water as the area you are looking to clean is usually submerged in water.

You will need to get your boat up out of the water, the gear case leads to the driveshaft and you would sink your boat if you try otherwise.
