How do you remove stains on leather?

Answer by  Milette (1105)

It depends on what type of stain it is. Ink stains: Rub the spot with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol. Grease stains: Blot with paper towel until there is no more greasy transfer on towel. Allow to dry and then use a good quality leather cleaner if the stain had not been properly removed.

I would recommend bringing the leather item to a dry cleaner as they'll have the right products necessary to remove the stain. you can also look for leather stain removers in the store and try them out to see if they work.

Stain removing can alter the color of leather. Ink stains can be removed with hairspray, and grease stains, sprinkle with corn starch, let sit and wipe off.

It depends on the stain. If it is ink, you can try spraying it with hairspray and blotting the surface dry.
