If the spot is on either the paint or trim, buffing it with car polish and a buffer will remove the spot.

To remove hard water spots from a car is very simple. All you need to do is to take some distilled vinegar and add it to water, about one-quarter cup of vinegar to one gallon of water. After you rinse your car, use the vinegar-water solution to rinse it again, and let it air dry for a spot-free shine!

Well you will either have to wash again with clean, filtered water and dry it immediately or use some type of spray detailer.

You have to prepare a mixture of 50/50 water and white vinegar. Keep the spot wet and while wiping the area with a towel soaked in the mixture. Drape the towel on the cleaned area for a few minutes. Make sure to keep it in contact with the area for a while. Wax and wash afterwards.
