In order to program an Apex remote control, first you need to turn on the device that you wish to use (DVD player, AUX, cable, etc). Next, you will simultaneously hold down the "Setup" button as well as the coordinating device. The red indicator light will turn on. Find your manufacturers code and enter it into the remote.

Press 'Setup', hold it down till the red light glows. Then check your brand name to the list of codes in the manual. Point the remote and enter the code. Once the device in question shuts off automatically then press 'Setup' and the indicator light will turn off.
