you can Connect the printer to your computer's USB port or FireWire port, using the appropriate cable. If it doesn't seem to be recognized by the computer, you might already be able to print. Otherwise You may need to download the latest drivers from Apple or the manufacturer's website and install.

Macintosh computers only use printers that can be connected via USB. If the printer supports USB then use a USB cable to plug it in

Most printers that work with Macs connect to the computer with a USB cable; others use a Firewire connection. Plug the printer cable into the appropriate port (USB or Firewire) on the computer. Once connected, the Mac will set your printer, allowing you to select it. You may also need to install printer software from a CD or downloaded file.

There will be two cables coming out of the printer, one will be a power cable that plugs into the wall and the other will be a data cable. Match the plug type of the data cable to a receptacle of the same size and shape on your mac.

The main 3 pin cable of the printer is connected to the plug for the current. The other cable is connected to the USB port in the CPU of the computer.
