How do you perform the function in excel to use split cell by comma, when do you hit delimited?

I am in the process of completing a detailed spread sheet and need assistance with the final phases.

Highlight the information that you wish to work with, click on "Data" and then "Text to Columns". You will then be able to manipulate the data as you wish.

Excel 2007 has the Text to Column function found on the Data Ribbon. Simply select your column, choose Text to Column. That will open the Text to Column Wizard, select your delimiter (in yoru case a comma) and the preview display will reflect the seperation that will be made when you choose FINISH.

Just go to data. Then click text in columns. Now you can define which character should be the delimiter (in your case the comma).

It isn't really a function. But I can tell you where you go to do it. Look on your toolbar and click Data. Then look for something called "Text to Columns". Click that and you will get a dialog box asking if you want delimited or fixed width. Hit delimited and select comma as what you want to use.

Pretty easy - just save the spreadsheet as a text file, then import it back into Excel (import, rather than just open). When importing, import it as a comma-delimited file (.CSV), and it will automatically split everything out for you. When you do the import, a wizard will walk you through the process of assigning properties to the fields.
