You have to be very careful when doing so, as the fumes from the paint can cause really bad consequences, such as fires and explosions.

Most any paint sorte will sell a product called appliance epoxy, usually it is sold in aerosla cans in the standard almond or white that most ranges come. Thhis product will give the hard finish and durabality you need on a gas range.
