To measure your driver's length, stand the club upright so the club head is resting on the ground as it would be when you address the ball. Hold one end of a measuring tape at the heel (bottom) of the club head, extending it to the top of the grip. Subtract 1/8th of an inch from the resulting length.

You measure from the tip of the shaft that has the grip to the connection to the driver head. Most drivers are in the mid 40's in inches.

The measurement of the driver in golf is how far from the tee box to where the ball ended up in the fairway. If the ball goes out of bounds the distance is not measured. Golfers also keep in mind the distance for the distance the ball actually flies ( carry ) so they can judge hitting over water.

I measure from the end of the grip to where the clubhead begins. This point is below the club's ferrule but above the point where the clubhead touches the ground.
