The dew point is the temperature at which water starts to condense out of the air (technically, at constant pressure). An easy method to measure it is to slowly add ice to a shiny tin full of water with a thermometer in it and see what temperature condensation forms

The dew point is the temperature at which a parcel of air must be cooled for water vapor to condense. It's a practical measure of humidity. It's either calculated from absolute humidity or measured with a sling psychrometer. Dew point is given as a temperature, usually with the ambient temperature.

Put water and a thermometer into a shiny can and slowly add ice cubes and stir. When dew forms on the can surface, note the temperature. That's the dew point.
