How do you make Pizzelle cookies?

Pizzelle cookies are made with flour, butter and anise. Once a particular recipe is chosen, you make a batter that is then put in an electric pizzelle machine. It looks like a waffle iron. They are easy to make and very good.

Preheat pizzelle griddle. Beat 6 eggs. Gradually add 1/2 cups sugar. Beat well. Add 1 cup cool melted butter and 2 tbsp anise extract. Sift 3 1/2 cups flour and 4 tsps baking powder. Add to creamed mixture. Dough will be very sticky. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto Pizzelle griddle sprayed with Pam. Cook till steam stops and cookies are golden.
