Depends on the type of candy, rock candy requires simple syrup (4 cups of sugar boiled in 2 cups of water), string, and a jar. You can also buy melting candy from craft stores and create colorful suckers, they usually have a surplus of molds to choose from. You can make mints with a simple no cook recipe.

Homemade candy involves boiling sugar and various other ingredients on a stove, adding food coloring and flavoring to create a desired taste, placing in molds and setting to dry.

Making candy is very easy. Visit you local craft store and buy a couple sucker/lollipop molds, sticks and chocolate. Melt chocolate in top of double boiler or microwave. Pour spoonfuls in chocolate into each mold. Tap on table or counter to release air bubbles, insert sticks, chill until wetness looks gone from the back side of the mold. Enjoy.
