How do you make chocolate garnishes?

They look so good when other people make them.

It's simple to make these. All you need is like a chocolate bar and a paring knife. You just start "shaving" the chocolate.

It depends on what kind of garnish you're referring to, but one of the best and easiest is using a potato peeler against a chocolate block to make curls.

Make sure you are working in a cool environment, and have sharp, quality tools. Pour melted chocolate on a cool, non-stick surface to make a sheet of chocolate. Use knives to cut shapes or strips that can stand up in desserts or a cheese grater to make shavings on top of cakes or pies.

You can try doing chocolate coated leaves. They make really pretty garnishes and are very easy. Wash some leaves and then dip them in melted chocolate. You can drizzle white chocolate over for designs. Just don't let people eat them.
