Look at what the battery is made of, some are NiMH while others are alkaline, there are other types too. Some packages will also say how long the battery will hold a charge.
Well the best way to do it is compare it. Charge both batteries and see how long they last. Typically, they should last for a while. The best brand is dynacell.
