The qualifications for Medicaid vary from state to state, as well as the coverage that Medicaid offers. The best place to start would be at your local hospital. They can put you in contact with the correct people and information.

Medicaid is usually available to low income individuals. These include low asset pregnant women children and parents of said children, the disabled, and the elderly. You need to have a low amount of assets and be one of those people previously mentioned to be eligible.

Unfortunately, this isn't a "one size fits all" question. Medicaid is a joint federal/state program. While there is a basic framework dictated by the federal government, the eligibility requirements vary by state. Your best bet would be to search on "Medicaid Eligibility state_name" for where you live.
