How do you know if painted glassware is dishwasher safe?

Usually the original package will state if it can be put in the dishwasher. If you do not have the original package, then as a rule of thumb, it has been covered over by a clear coat it is usually okay to wash on a short cycle. Other wise, hand wash with care.

Painted glassware is probably NOT dishwasher safe. Because it's probably special and one-of-a-kind, it's best not to take the chance. Handwash to avoid damaging the designs.

Generally if the glassware is not marked as dishwasher safe it is best to hand wash it. I know this can be annoying but it is better safe than sorry.

It is usually not, as the paints may not be able to withstand the heat without peeling. It is generally suggested that you hand-wash, and not use any metal scrubbers.
