I use bleach on my white carpets at full strength. I don't recommend for colored carpets. You can get a flea bomb you have to be gone for four hours.

Keep the fur lined pets outdoors as these will always contribute to fleas breeding, regardless of how many treatments and baths you give the poor animal. Cleanliness at a very contant intervals should kill any eggs on cloth surfaces.
