Clover is a sign that your lawn is in need of something. Usually nitrogen. Regular mowing and fertilizing will, over time, kill off the clover. Vinegar is a natural weed killer but this might also damage the lawn. The easiest and fastest way would be chemical weed killer.

Simply spray the leaves and roots with a solution composed of alcohol and sodium bicarbonate. Be careful not to apply too much on the surrounding area as this will kill any plant life.

You will want to find a broad spectrum herbicide that is specially formulated to kill clover and other broad-leaf weeds. In most herbicides, the active ingredient will be a chemical called MCPP. It shouldn't kill your grass, but after the clover is dead, you'll want to replant the area with grass to fill it in.

The best thing to do is to spray it with Round Up. Round Up is extremely effective at killing weeds, plus is is not harmful to animals.

There are natural ways to rid clover from the yard that are safe for other living plants you may not want to kill. Watering the grass and hand picking is perfect if there are not many. Pour vinegar on the clover. Sugar is another cure for this problem.

Use a broad leaf herbicide that contains the ingredient dicamba or MCPP. More than one application may be necessary. Once the clover is completely gone you must sow good grass seed.

The best way to kill clover is with a selective broad-leaf herbicide. This will allow you to kill the clover with minimal damage to your grass.

Pour boiling water or apple cider vinegar on it either one will do the job but neither one will hurt anything that is growing around it.

Pulling it out is the best method. You have to make sure that you remove the root system. Clover roots are very shallow in the soil but are very long.

I would wait until spring around march when it starts to sprout. The spray with Round-Up. This will prevent the plant from sprouting. The closer you get to the root area the better. It will turn brown and then you can pull it out. Remember when it starts to bloom, then Round-Up.

clover is a one root plant, more like a vine, so you cant kill part of it it will grow right back, corn gluten, or gluten fertilizer restores nitrogen, and makes it die, doesn't hurt grass, and gets the whole darn thing, otherwords its hard to kill, trust me.
