Ceramic tile is pretty easy to install. It is breakable, but as long as you are careful not to drop it, you should be fine. First apply a layer of thin set on the surface, than you place the tile on the thin set. Once the thin set is dried and tile is set in place you can grout joints.

Make sure to layout the design, using a chalk line is best. Clean the sub-surface with warm water and a cleaning agent. You will have to rent a tile saw. Lay your mortar, place tile spacers, and let dry 24 hours. Finally, remove spacers, clean and then grout your tiles.
