How do you install a microwave over the range?

First, make sure that you have a microwave that supports being hung, most microwaves that you buy from the store don't support it, so go to Sears and ask for an OTS Microwave. You're cabnets should be able to support the weight of the microwave, so you'll just need to buy the mounting equipment for it, and then attach it.

Over the range microwaves come with hanging brackets. You will need to make sure that there is an outlet where you can plug your microwave in and hide the wires nicely. After that, you'll need to hang the bracket, making sure to attach it to the studs, as the microwave's weight needs the extra support.

Use the provided template to drill the appropriate holes for the bolts and powercord. CHeck that you can reach the outlet to plug it in. Then bolt in place.
