Lettuce is probably the easiest plant to grow. All there is to it is to drop the seed in a small hole, cover with dirt, and water.

Lettuce is very, very easy to grow and a great starter plant. You can grow them indoors or outside, and lettuce grows great in pots! Plant early in the spring, as it is cool weather crop. You can begin harvesting the outside leaves right away, the tender leaves are very tasty.

First, purchase some young lettuce plants from your local nursery. Locate your planting site and prepare the soil. The soil PH should be between 6 and 7. Plant them about one foot apart. Keep the soil moist, but not wet. Harvest when the leaves are large enough to use.
